arbitrarily: I did it. Ugh, I am randomly rewatching Season Seven of The West Wing, and this fucking storyline. I think a huge reason I have such a problem with the final season is this entire arc (especially the speech Bartlet gives in that episode to Toby about how he always saw this coming, Toby crashing and burning so spectacularly because he’s always held himself morally superior, just, ugh) that I feel like doesn’t fit Toby’s character AT ALL. That said, this arc is like CJ/Toby bonanza, so that’s nice.

  18. ohsweetdarling said: I almost feel like the WW writers wanted to a) do a “ripped from the headlines” thing (since this was right around the time of the Valerie Plame) AND b) give Toby something to do, but failed. I love season 7, but that whole arc was terrible.
