A fantastic comedic actress, Kathryn Joosten, passed away today of lung cancer at age 72. She was a talented entertainer and a great inspiration to me. May she rest in peace.

Though she won two Emmys for her work on Desperate Housewives, I’ve always felt this scene, from The West Wing’s season 1 episode “In Excelsis Deo,” to be Kathryn Joosten’s best work.
